ZenGo's keyless backup is simple, secure, and only takes a second. It completely replaces the need to manage (and worry about securing) a private key.
Just scan your face and you're done!
If your ZenGo app gets deleted, or you lose your device, you'll need to restore your wallet. Follow these four easy steps:
On your device, be logged in to the same Apple ID or Google account you used to create your ZenGo wallet the first time
In the ZenGo app, log in with the same email you used to create your wallet the first time
Check your email for the magic link
Click "restore account" and follow on-screen instructions. Make sure to choose the account you used to sign up with ZenGo.
Scan your face
That's it! Your wallet is restored.
Under the hood, the face map is not an image of your face, but rather a non-identifiable mathematical representation of your face used to authenticate you. It simply tells us if the same person who created the wallet is the one trying to access it now. Your face map is stored securely encrypted on our server and made available for you to restore your wallet anytime.
The ZenGo app also creates a unique backup file and stores it in your cloud storage system. You can choose from iCloud Drive, Google Drive, and Dropbox — we recommend all three! This file is NOT a private key. You don't need to do anything with this file, just be aware that it's there.
ZenGo Keyless Backup requires the following elements:
Your backup file
Your secure face map
