To have a secure Zengo account, you need a complete recovery kit. Since May 23rd, 2024, the recovery kit only consists of two mandatory authentication factors:
Email Authentication
Recovery File (stored in your cloud services)
You no longer need a selfie biometrics scan.
What if I already have a Zengo account set up?
If you have an account already set up and backed up, your funds are protected in the Zengo wallet. Unfortunately, you cannot recover (or create a Recovery Kit for) your wallet without a working selfie camera. Recovery on Zengo uses ZoOm Biometric Security and relies on your phone's selfie camera.
If your camera breaks after you have backed up your funds, your funds are perfectly safe.
If the sensors required for Apple’s Face ID are also broken, you can use Zengo instead with the passcode to make transactions. You can continue to transact with Zengo until you either repair your camera or restore your account on a different, fully working phone.
