How to use Prediction Markets in Zengo

Written by Matias Fabius

Prediction Markets in Zengo are powered by Polymarket and built natively into the app. Trade on real-world outcomes — politics, sports, crypto, finance, and more — straight from your Zengo wallet, with no separate account and no app switching. This guide walks you through everything: funding, placing a prediction, selling, claiming winnings, and withdrawing back to your wallet.

⚠️ Not available in every region. Prediction Markets aren’t accessible in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Singapore, Poland, Romania, Thailand, Taiwan, Ukraine, Ontario (Canada), or countries on the U.S. sanctions list. This mirrors Polymarket’s geographic restrictions and may change. If the feature is unavailable in your region, the Predictions tab won’t appear or trades will be blocked at checkout. Refer to Polymarket TOS.

Before you start

To trade, you’ll need:

  • A Zengo wallet (any tier).

  • USDC on Polygon — the currency all prediction trades use. If you don’t hold USDC, Zengo can automatically swap it from another token in your wallet during funding. If you hold no crypto at all, Zengo will guide you to buy USDC on Polygon first.

  • A small amount of POL (Polygon’s native token) to cover network fees for funding, withdrawing, and claiming. If you’re short on POL, Zengo will prompt you before a transaction is submitted.

No separate account needed. Zengo connects to Polymarket natively. There’s no WalletConnect step, no Polymarket website login, and no separate account to manage — everything happens inside Zengo, tied to your own wallet.

Find Predictions

Open Zengo and tap the Predictions tab on your home screen (next to Tokens). Here you’ll see your Available Prediction Balance, a button to browse markets, and — if you have winnings ready — a Claim Winnings bar. A badge next to the tab shows how many positions you currently hold.

Your wallet balance and your prediction balance are shown separately. That’s because Polymarket requires funds to be moved into its trading infrastructure before you can trade. You can move money between the two at any time using Add Funds and Withdraw.

Add funds

Before placing a prediction, add money to your prediction balance.

Tap Add Funds on the Predictions tab to get started.

  1. Tap Add Funds and choose a funding method:

    • Use crypto in your Zengo wallet — pick an asset and amount; non-USDC tokens are swapped automatically.

    • Receive crypto from another wallet — send funds in from an external wallet, then add them.

    • Fund from eToro eToro customers — transfer from your connected eToro account.

    • Buy crypto — purchase through one of Zengo’s supported providers.

  2. Enter the amount. Zengo shows the total with fees before you commit.

  3. Review and confirm.

Transfers usually complete within a few minutes. Your prediction balance updates automatically and is ready to trade as soon as it lands.

⚠️ Know the risk: Prediction markets carry real financial risk. If a market resolves against you, your shares are worth $0.00. Only trade what you’re comfortable losing.

Read a market

Browse markets by category (Trending, Politics, Sports, Crypto, Finance, and more) or search by keyword. Tap any market to open its event page, then switch to the About tab to see the details that matter before you trade:

  • Volume and End date for the market.

  • Resolution Details — exactly how and when the market settles, the resolution source, and how edge cases are handled.

  • A View on Polymarket link to the underlying market.

Place a prediction

Once your balance is funded, you’re ready to trade.

  1. Open a market and choose your outcome — usually Yes or No. Each share is priced between $0.00 and $1.00, reflecting the market’s implied probability of that outcome.

  2. Enter the dollar amount you want to invest. Zengo shows your available balance and your potential winnings if the outcome resolves in your favor.

  3. Open Total with Fees to see the breakdown — your deposit, the Zengo fee, the provider fee, and the final amount you’ll pay.

  4. Review and tap Place prediction to confirm. By continuing you accept Polymarket’s terms.

Your new position appears immediately under the Predictions tab. You can choose one of two order types:

  • Market order — fills immediately at the current price; you set the dollar amount.

  • Limit order — fills only when the market reaches a price you set; you choose the price, number of shares, and an expiration.

Track your positions

Inside the Predictions tab, switch between Open and Closed:

  • Open — active predictions that haven’t resolved yet, with current value, potential payout, and live market performance.

  • Closed — resolved predictions, showing whether each was won or lost along with past payouts.

Zengo also sends a push notification when an open position moves by ±10%, and again when a market you took part in resolves as a win.

Sell before resolution

You don’t have to wait for a market to resolve. You can exit any open position before it closes — locking in a profit if the odds moved your way, or cutting a loss if they didn’t.

  1. Open the event details page for the position.

  2. Tap Sell.

  3. Review the confirmation — shares being sold, price, and your profit/loss.

  4. Confirm. Proceeds are credited to your prediction balance immediately.

Sports markets: Outstanding limit orders are automatically cancelled when the game starts. Keep an eye on open orders around scheduled start times.

How markets resolve

When the real-world event concludes, Polymarket resolves the market through its UMA Optimistic Oracle — a decentralized process where an outcome is proposed and can be challenged by the community.

  • Undisputed: roughly 2 hours after the outcome is proposed.

  • Disputed: 4–6 days if the result is challenged and goes to a community vote.

If your prediction is correct, each share pays out $1.00. If it’s wrong, the shares settle at $0.00 and there’s nothing to claim. Your funds stay in the position until the market settles. Because Polymarket handles resolution, Zengo cannot influence or override how a market resolves.

Claim winnings

When a market resolves in your favor, you’ll get a push notification with the event and amount won.

  1. Open the Predictions tab.

  2. Tap Claim — or Claim All if you have multiple winning positions.

  3. Confirm. The amount is added to your prediction balance right away.

From there you can withdraw to your Zengo wallet or reuse the funds for new trades. There’s no expiry on unclaimed winnings — they stay in Polymarket’s smart contracts until you claim — but it’s good practice to claim soon after a market resolves.

Withdraw funds

To move money from your prediction balance back into your Zengo wallet, use Withdraw. Funds are returned as USDC.e on the Polygon network, and both balances update immediately.

  1. Tap Withdraw on the Predictions tab.

  2. Enter the amount to withdraw (or pick 25% / 50% / 75% / Max).

  3. Review the network fee and the total you’ll receive, then tap Withdraw to Wallet to confirm.

Fees

Zengo may charge a small taker fee on most market categories, applied when your trade executes. Makers — users whose orders rest in the order book — are never charged. Fees are highest when a market is near 50/50 odds and shrink toward the extremes. Polymarket itself doesn’t charge for deposits or withdrawals.

  • Network fee (gas): a small POL fee on Polygon for funding, withdrawing, and claiming.

  • Swap fee: applies only if you fund with a token other than USDC; shown clearly before you confirm.

Every fee appears on the confirmation screen before any transaction is submitted.

Questions

Do I need a separate Polymarket account?

No. Zengo handles the connection natively, so you trade through your own Zengo wallet without creating a separate account or visiting Polymarket’s website.

What currency do I trade with?

USDC on Polygon. If you don’t hold USDC, Zengo can swap from any token in your wallet during the funding flow.

Why is my prediction balance separate from my wallet balance?

Polymarket requires funds to be deposited into its trading infrastructure before you can trade. Your prediction balance is what’s available on Polymarket; move funds between the two with Add Funds and Withdraw.

Can I exit a position early?

Yes. Sell your shares any time before the market closes — proceeds go to your prediction balance immediately.

How do I dispute a market result?

Zengo doesn’t control or resolve market outcomes. Resolution runs on Polymarket’s UMA oracle: outcomes are proposed against predefined criteria, and if disputed, escalated to a community vote. Disputes are raised through Polymarket’s process — Zengo cannot modify or override an outcome.

Do I need POL?

Yes — a small amount of POL covers Polygon network fees for funding, withdrawing, and claiming. Zengo will alert you before a transaction if you don’t have enough.

Why can’t I access Predictions?

Most likely a regional restriction (see the list at the top). In a restricted region, the Predictions tab won’t appear or trades will be blocked at checkout. This reflects Polymarket’s geographic limits and can change over time.

Is Prediction Markets available on Zengo Web?

Not yet — it launches on the mobile app first. Zengo Web support is planned for a future update.

What happens to my predictions if I recover my account?

Your prediction activity is tied to your Zengo wallet address on Polygon. Once recovery is complete, your prediction balance and open positions are accessible again. Zengo’s MPC security protects your wallet and account access throughout.

Prediction Markets is powered by Polymarket. Market outcomes, resolution, and liquidity are managed by Polymarket independently of Zengo. Zengo is a self-custodial wallet and never holds your funds on your behalf. Trading prediction markets involves financial risk and may not be available in your region.
